To continue the tradition of excellence, weadopted a strategic plan – A&T Preeminence 2020: Embracing Our Past, Creating Our Future– that has enabled us to make great strides in student success, innovation and civic engagementthat positions our students to be competitive in the global marketplace.
With the year 2020 on the horizon, there isstill much work to be done to fulfill the plan.
To achieve preeminence, we must recruit andretain: Highly motivated and high-achieving facultywho are committed to innovative research, effective teaching and impactful mentorshipthat challenges our academically talented students;Self-motivated staff committed to outstanding customer service, excellence and accountability;Students who are empowered to dream, driven to achieve and inspired by a proud traditionof visionary thinkers and doers.
And our alumni must continue the legacy ofthis dynamic institution by being outstanding ambassadors, providing unwavering supportand giving unselfishly to the next generation of Aggies.
This year, we introduced three new colleges– Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences; Health and Human Sciences; and Science andTechnology – to enhance undergraduate and graduate enrollment; faculty research andscholarly productivity; increase external funding; increase the number of students receivingnational fellowships; as well as program and university national and international rankings.
This focus on academics is expected to strengthensynergy among similar disciplines, increase the competitiveness of our academic programs,cultivate collaboration and interdisciplinary research and generate greater visibility forall programming while simultaneously building upon our strong foundation of science, technology,engineering and mathematics-related programming.
When we launched A&T Preeminence 2020, weimmediately went to work on a brand campaign that would accurately define and tell thestory of Aggie Pride.
We surveyed faculty, staff, students, alumniand other key constituents about their perceptions of North Carolina A&T.
We confirmed something we already knew – AggiePride reigns supreme in the hearts and minds of Aggies around the globe.
What we learned is that Aggie Pride meansdifferent things to different people and those meanings are rooted in all the dynamic thingsthat Aggies DO.
This brand campaign will bring Aggie Prideto life by strategically and intentionally showcasing all the things Aggies DO in thelab, in the classroom, on the playing field, in the community and their respective industries.
We have rolled out a new look and feel forthe Aggies DO brand campaign that includes a word mark and new templates for Power Pointpresentations, newsletters, brochures, advertisements and more that will be presented this fallto accurately illustrate our new brand and provide universal messaging on campus, inthe community and worldwide.
This is an exciting time to be a member ofthe Aggie family.
As the landscape of higher education evolves,North Carolina A&T State University will continue to prepare today’s students to be tomorrow’sglobal leaders in liberal arts, education, business, agriculture, science, technology,engineering, mathematics and more.
As we embark upon a new academic year, wemust focus on the fulfillment of our goals outlined in A&T Preeminence 2020.
